Grant Activity:
Obesity epidemic fuelling the surge of endometrial cancers: Elucidating the role and targeting of molecular signals involved in fat and endometrial cancer cross-talk
Purpose:
Obesity is associated with the dramatic increase in incidence and mortality of endometrial cancer. However, little is understood as to how obesity specifically increases the risk of endometrial cancer. The Investigators have discovered VEGF-mTOR signalling is a major driver of fat-driven endometrial carcinogenesis. Through this proposal, they will test the efficacy of targeting VEGF-mTOR signalling in patient derived endometrial cancer models (organoids and xenografts).
