Grant Activity:
Empowering Indigenous women–led AI to manage healthy country
Purpose:
The project will empower Indigenous women and rangers to engage with digital technologies, artificial intelligence (AI) and data analysis to adaptively manage their lands, drawing on our award–winning Healthy Country AI research. In collaboration with Indigenous women and rangers, the team will co–design micro–credential modules that will enable young girls and women to be trained to use the Healthy Country AI process. This will improve participants digital literacy and empower them to translate digital skills into job opportunities. The project will also provide vital clues about how science organisations can catalyse innovation and digital inclusion for the benefit of all Australians.
