Purpose:
This project is a practical trial of an alternative method of weed control that utilises the planting of tree alleys and native vegetation to shade out the weeds located along roadsides near the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area (WTWHA). This project will limit the impacts of climate change, reduce the impact of land-based activities and, protect/ rehabilitate and restore Reef habitat by reducing use of herbicides, improving run-off filtration and water quality for the WTWHA and the Great Barrier Reef Catchment area located within the Tablelands Region.
