Australian participation in the Antiplatelet Secondary Prevention International Randomised trial after INtracerebral haemorrhaGe (ASPIRING)
Purpose:
This project will bring ASPIRING to Australia, giving 330 Australian survivors of stroke that was caused by a bleed in the brain (intracerebral haemorrhage [ICH]) access to a widely available and affordable treatment to minimise their risk of further (secondary) vascular events of the brain and heart. Secondary events occur in 7-19% of people each year after stroke due to ICH, and there are more than 60,000 survivors of stroke due to ICH in Australia needing effective ways to reduce this risk.
