Understanding the mechanisms of gastrointestinal colonisation with vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VRE)
Purpose:
This project will use state-of-the-art molecular biology to understand how the superbug vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE) colonises patients and spreads in hospitals. The work will identify new targets to allow development of approaches to reduce the burden of VRE in Australian hospitals.
