Purpose:
Elderly people are at great risk of irregular heart rhythms and heart failure. Statin therapy may be beneficial but may also cause side effects among older people. Understanding the balance of benefits and risks of statin therapy is essential to guide doctors, patients and policy makers in how we should best approach keeping older people healthy.
