Grant Activity:
Diversification of immune responses through unanticipated proteolytic mechanisms
Purpose:
This application examines how the immune response can be diversified to include peptide targets that have been reconstructed during their normal degradation. As such novel targets of immunity can be generated that cannot be predicted from the genome of the pathogen or the host. We will explore the mechanism of generation and immune consequences of these antigens constitutively and during influenza infection.
