Grant Activity:
Defining the molecular basis of macrophage-mediated muscle stem cell activation
Purpose:
Muscle stem cells repair muscle during injury and diseases such as muscular dystrophy. How they are activated and replace copies of themselves for activation during future repair is largely unknown. The immune system appears to help coordinate this process and we are looking at cell and signals that coordinate muscle stem cell repair.
