Optimising neurodevelopmental outcomes for fetal growth restriction
Purpose:
Fetal growth restriction (FGR) is a common but devastating pregnancy condition where the fetus fails to thrive, and brain development is particularly vulnerable. We have shown that the brain injury present in FGR offspring is complex, altering basic cell morphology, and cell communications. This project will examine and compare the neuroprotective benefits of 2 treatments in our ovine model of FGR, to inform the future clinical care for FGR and reduce neurodevelopmental brain injury.
