Grant Activity:
Shifting Weight using Intermittent Fasting (the SWIFt study): A novel weight loss intervention in shift workers with obesity
Purpose:
Shift workers, as a result of their work schedules, are more likely to be overweight. Eating at night contributes to this increased risk. Effective strategies for weight loss are needed for this population and intermittent fasting (IF) and time restricted eating are two flexible approaches that may suit. We will investigate weight loss effectiveness of three diets: standard energy restriction; IF (day time fast) and IF (night time fast) in shift workers who are overweight.
