Grant Activity:
Reducing the harm caused by radiation for children with brain cancer
Purpose:

Medulloblastoma is a childhood brain cancer. Many patients will be cured, but almost all survivors will suffer serious side effects later in life due to the radiation used in treatment. To reduce side effects, we seek new treatments that need less radiation. We found two drugs that increase cancer cell death when used with with radiation. We will test the drugs with low doses of radiation to find out if they are as good as, if not better than, treatments that use high doses of radiation.
