Central control of diet induced thermogenesis
Purpose:
Obesity is caused by an imbalance of food intake to energy usage. Energy usage is normally increased in the body when food is in oversupply leading to increased heat production. Deficits in this process can cause the acceleration of obesity development. This project aims to identify the critical components involved in this process and test whether they could be targeted for anti-obesity treatment.
