Preventing Pre-eclampsia to Improve Outcomes for Mothers and Babies
Purpose:
Pre-eclampsia, a serious hypertensive disorder of pregnancy, is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality for mothers and babies. Effective prevention is available, but identifying women at risk who benefit from treatment is challenging. I have formed an internationally recognised research team and will lead a research program to implement an effective first trimester screening program in Victoria, better understand the disease, identify high-risk women, and improve pregnancy outcomes.
