Purpose:
Beth Weizmann Jewish Community Centre (BWJCC) will upgrade security infrastructure by building a blast resistant wall and secure point of entry to the Centre. BWJCC incorporating the Lamm Jewish Library of Australia (LJLA) is the recognised activity hub of the Victorian Jewish community. It regularly hosts hundreds of visitors including school groups, multifaith groups, politicians and VIPs and is the home to 30 Jewish communal organisations. The project will increase the safety and security of the hundreds of people who work and visit daily by providing a strong deterrent against possible future attacks and reducing the building s vulnerability.
