Purpose:
Vaccines are one of the great public health achievements in the modern era. However, vaccinology remains an empirical art and there is an urgent need to advance the science to realize its full potential, particularly in the face of pandemics such as COVID-19 and the emergence of virus variants that require booster injections. Here we propose to track the cell fate trajectories of memory B cells to determine the factors that are critical to generating a potent immune response to vaccination.
