Investigator
Grant Activity:
Precision Medicine in the Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathies
Purpose:

Many epilepsies have a genetic basis. For the most severe group of epilepsies, the genetic cause is found in only 50 percent of patients. I will develop an epilepsy genetics program which focuses on improving outcomes of these devastating diseases by developing an Australia-wide network of paediatric neurologists, building a registry and natural history study of these diseases, and finding the unknown genetic causes. I will lead trials of novel therapies that target the underlying genetic abnormality.
