Grant Activity:
Loss-of-function of tau phosphorylation in Alzheimer's disease
Purpose:
This research aims to explore a new explanation for memory loss in Alzheimer’s disease. The nature of the chemical processes that represent memory in the brain is unknown. This research uses a series of innovative approaches to study these chemical processes and how the loss of normal processes in the brain contributes to memory loss observed in Alzheimer’s disease. Finally, it will test this new principle for its potential to prevent and revert memory loss for Alzheimer’s therapy.
