Purpose:
This grant will: (1) Conduct research on what actions members of the community can take to prevent and intervene early with mental disorders; (2) Translate the findings from this research into practical interventions that empower the whole community to take action. The research will increase the community’s capacity for action in: (1) Action on prevention; (2) Earlier recognition of mental disorders; (3) Use of effective self-help strategies; (4) Skills to give mental health first aid.
