Improving outcomes for people with knee osteoarthritis: Overcoming patient and clinician barriers
Purpose:
Knee osteoarthritis is a major cause of chronic pain and disability. As a world-leading physiotherapist researcher, my program aims to improve use of, and outcomes from, non-drug non-surgical treatments particularly education, exercise and weight loss. It will do this via 4 research streams: 1) motivating and supporting patients to effectively self-manage; 2) increasing patient access to these treatments; 3) increasing clinicians’ capacity to deliver quality care; and 4) driving global research efforts
