Purpose:
The blood vessels provide access to regions of brain and nerves in the body that enable treatment with implantable devices. Interventional techniques enable a method of implanting a device while avoiding open brain surgery. Building off of work already achieved over a 6 year period, this grant progresses a body of world-first research that is proving the safety and efficacy of the first applications in paralysis and epilepsy in this new field of medicine.
