Investigator Grants
Grant Activity:
Understanding the control of cell death and the functions of the tumour suppressor p53 to develop improved therapies for cancer
Purpose:
Cancer is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in Australia and worldwide, imposing a substantial burden on affected families and the health care system. I will build on my previous success of delivering a highly successful new anti-cancer drug (venetoclax) to market by determining the mechanisms that control the killing of cancer cells and the suppression of tumour development. My aim is to kick-start translational programs to develop new anti-cancer drugs.
