Purpose:
The NGA is planning to tour Patricia Piccinini’s ‘Skywhales: Every Heart Sings’, to every state and Territory in Australia. ‘Skywhales’, a unique project for the NGA, will be one of Piccinini’s most ambitious ventures to date. The NGA will work with regional venues to present a simultaneous launch of the balloons at a suitable site near the host venue. The launches would be a major community event, held over two days, consisting of either a flight or a tether. A display of video and images, plus public programming and education material will complement the event and highlight key themes.
