CURIOUS CLIMATE: asking Tasmania what it wants to know from scientists
Purpose:
Curious climate aims to develop public–powered scientific engagement, bridging the gap between experts and audiences with credible and relevant information about climate change. The Tasmanian public will be encouraged by local radio and Facebook to lodge their Curious Climate questions on a website, similar to ABC s Hearken tool used in ABC newsrooms to foster genuine audience engagement. People in each of 4 regions can then vote for their top 10 questions about climate change (local and general), which will then be presented in a series of public Q&A sessions in each region. Local (and mostly younger) scientists from across Tasmania will answer each of the top questions in a short sharp visually appealing 5 minute presentation, before a panel.
