Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme 2023/24 to 2025/26
The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) grant opportunity provides auspices to recruit, train and support volunteers to provide regular visits to socially isolated older people receiving Australian Government subsidised residential aged care or home care packages to improve quality of life and social connections.
The ACVVS is an expansion of the existing Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) in response to the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety Recommendation 44.c
The funding for this grant opportunity is $99.84 million over three financial years from 2023-24 to 2025-26. The ACVVS grant opportunity will fund 4 activities to support the grant outcome and objectives:
- Activity 1: Delivery of the ACVVS to Australian Government subsidised Residential Care and Home Care Package recipients
- Activity 2: Network Members
- Activity 3: Diversity, Complex Vulnerability and Cultural Advisors
- Activity 4: Community of Practice Coordinators
Only entity types in accordance with Subsection 82-2 of the Aged Care Act 1997 and Part 4 of the Grants Principles 2014 are eligible to apply (refer Grant Opportunity Guidelines draft - section 4 Eligibility Criteria)
The Department of Health and Aged Care will be conducting an industry briefing via webinar with a Q&A opportunity to outline the details of the Grant Opportunity during week one of the Grant round opening.
