Indigenous Advancement Strategy - Advance notice of forthcoming 1,000 Jobs Package Grant Opportunity
The Australian Government is subsidising 1,000 new jobs for Community Development Program (CDP) participants in remote Australia to support economic development.
The 1,000 Jobs Package grant funding round will provide an initial opportunity for up to 100 new jobs to be created and will be open from 1 September 2019 to 30 November 2019 or until 100 positions are filled. This round will be a demand driven eligibility based grant funding round that aims to stimulate the remote labour market and create new jobs for CDP participants.
Through the upcoming grant opportunity, eligible employers will be able to apply for grant funding under the Indigenous Advancement Strategy to contribute to the costs of employing CDP participants in new jobs across remote Australia. The grant will provide for a combination of wage subsidies and retention bonuses.
Positions will be subsidised up to the minimum wage, and can be full-time or part-time at least 15 hours per week on average, subsidised up to 38 hours per week for up to 46 weeks per year, with the subsidy tapering in the second year.
Prior to submitting an application for funding, eligible applicants will be required to consult with the NIAA Regional Network and local CDP providers on the details of their application.
