Primary Care Nursing and Midwifery Scholarship Program Grant Opportunity
The 2023-24 Budget Measure - Strengthening Medicare Initiative - Supporting the medical and health workforce, announced $49.363 million (GST exclusive) over four years to establish the Primary Care Nursing and Midwifery Scholarship Program.
The purpose of this grant opportunity is to establish the program. It will fund 1,850 postgraduate scholarships to train more nurse practitioners and endorsed midwives – to encourage work in primary (and aged) care settings.
This is an open competitive grant round. To be eligible you must be one of the following entity types:
- Indigenous Corporation (registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006)
- Company
- Incorporated Association
- Partnership.
Applications from consortia are acceptable, providing there is a lead organisation that is solely accountable to the Commonwealth for the delivery of grant activities and is an eligible entity as per the list above.
