Description:

NHMRC aims to provide assistance to Australian researchers to participate in multinational collaborative research projects that have been recommended for funding under the European Union-JPND Call for Proposals: “Novel imaging and brain stimulation methods and technologies related to Neurodegenerative Diseases”

JPND is aimed at tackling the challenge of neurodegenerative diseases and coordinating investment into research to find causes, develop cures, and identify appropriate ways to care for those with neurodegenerative diseases.

Eligibility:

Only research with a key focus on “Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias” will be funded through this grant opportunity. Applying for funding with any other focus under this grant opportunity will not be supported. The definition used for “Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias” is available on the JPND website: https://www.neurodegenerationresearch.eu/initiatives/annual-calls-for-proposals/jpnd-open-call-2020/open-calls/country-specific-details/  

To be eligible for funding under this grant opportunity, Australian researchers must apply to the JPND as part of a transnational consortium application.

Applications will only be accepted from NHMRC approved Administering Institutions. A list of NHMRC approved Administering Institutions is available at:

Applications must satisfy all requirements set out in the NHMRC-European Union Joint Programme - Novel imaging and brain stimulation methods and technologies related to Neurodegenerative Diseases 2020 Guidelines.
