Description:

Wine Australia is inviting a broad range of stakeholders to apply for the International Wine Tourism Competitive Grants program, as part of the Australian Government’s $50 million Export and Regional Wine Support Package (the $50m Package).

The Competitive Grants provide eligible stakeholders with the opportunity to apply for funding on a competitive basis, towards initiatives that will grow either the number of and/or spend by international wine tourists in a particular region.

Two categories of grants are available: small grants (up to $50,000) and medium grants ($50,000 - $250,000). Applicants will be able to make multiple applications for either or both categories.

Eligible activities include wine tourism marketing and events, infrastructure and innovative products or services targeted at attracting international tourists. 

$5 million will be made available under the Competitive Grants and cash co-contributions will be sought to leverage additional investment and maximise impact.

Eligibility:

The Competitive Grants will be assessed through a competitive merit-based process. Applications be will assessed against five criteria: level of cash co-contributions (20 per weighting), contribution to program objectives (30 per cent), sustainability (20 per cent), innovation (10 per cent) and risk (20 per cent).

Eligible applicants must have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be one of the following: a registered state or national wine association, a local government body, an incorporated regional or local tourism organisation, a not for profit organisation, an Australian university or a for-profit organisation, partnership or individual applying as part of a consortium.

NB: Applications must include collaboration between two or more of the aforementioned list and submissions from eligible consortia are encouraged.

Grant Activity Timeframe:

All project expenditure will need to be completed by April 2020.

Total Amount Available (AUD):

$5,000,000.00

Estimated Grant Value (AUD):

From $1.00 to $250,000.00
