Royal Commissions and Inquiries Scheme - Financial Services Royal Commission
The Attorney-General’s Department may provide legal financial assistance for people engaging with the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry.
Royal Commissions and Inquiries Scheme - Financial Services Royal Commission
Entities and individuals may be eligible for assistance to cover reasonable legal representation and disbursements costs if they are:
- called to appear at a hearing of, or attend an interview with, the Royal Commission, or
- are issued with a notice to produce by the Royal Commission.
For these purposes, an entity is defined to include all entities or persons except:
- a 'financial services entity' as defined in the Letters Patent issued on 14 December 2017 with 20 or more employees, or
- a person representing such an entity.
A person who is an employee or former employee of any 'financial service entity' as defined in the Letters Patent who is not representing that entity, may be eligible for assistance.
