NHMRC-JPND Joint Call 2019 – JPco-fuND-2 aims to provide assistance to Australian researchers to participate in multinational collaborative research projects that have been recommended for funding under the European Union Joint Programme – Neurodegenerative Disease (JPND): Call for Multinational research projects on Personalised Medicine for Neurodegenerative Diseases.

JPND is aimed at tackling the challenge of neurodegenerative diseases and coordinating investment into research to find causes, develop cures, and identify appropriate ways to care for those with neurodegenerative diseases.

Only research with a key focus on “Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias” will be funded through JPco-fuND-2. Applying for funding with any other focus under this call will not be supported through this scheme. The definition used for “Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias” is available on the JPND website (http://www.neurodegenerationresearch.eu/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Australia.pdf).

To be eligible for JPco-fuND-2 funding, Australian researchers must apply to the JPND as part of a transnational consortium application.

Applications will only be accepted from NHMRC approved Administering Institutions. A list of NHMRC approved Administering Institutions is available at:

Applications must be submitted electronically using NHMRC’s online Research Grants Management System (RGMS) unless otherwise advised by NHMRC.

Please note this round is open only to Australian members of consortia invited by JPND to submit Full proposals.

Australian consortium members must provide all documentation and budget requests as instructed in the Applicant Guidance document (to be provided shortly). JPND application documentation greater than 2MB in size should be emailed to dementia.research@nhmrc.gov.au.
