Description:

The Australian Cultural Diplomacy Grants Program (ACDGP) is intended to support projects that engage audiences, establish ongoing networks and promote collaboration and exchange. Projects supported by the ACDGP should:

  • Expand audiences and markets for Australian artistic work and creative products.
  • Promote Australian expertise in arts production and management.
  • Leverage public-private partnerships.
  • Recognise the role of cultural actors as authentic and accessible agents of social change.
  • Influence perceptions of Australia at home and abroad.

The objectives of the ACDGP are to:

  • Support innovative collaboration and exchange.
  • Promote our economic, artistic and cultural assets to an international audience.
  • Support cultural diplomacy initiatives in DFAT’s Focus Country’s (Japan 2018).
  • Foster collaborative people-to-people links internationally.
  • Leverage existing partnerships and fostering engagement with key stakeholders in line with our economic diplomacy objectives.
Eligibility:

To be eligible you must:

  • be one of the following entity types:
    • an Australian entity with an Australian Business Number (ABN) or Australian Company Number (ACN)
    • a consortium with a lead organisation
    • a registered charity or not-for-profit organisation
    • an Australian local government body
    • an Australian State/Territory government body
    • a corporate Commonwealth entity
    • an Australian statutory authority
    • be an Australian or permanent resident of Australia
  • and be willing to provide or develop child protection guidelines for your project if it involves people under the age of 18 years.

Applications from consortia are acceptable, provided you have a lead applicant who is the main driver of the project and is eligible as per the list above.

Individuals who intend the grant to be administered by a university should apply on behalf of the university, i.e. your university is the applicant.

Grant Activity Timeframe:

The grant round will close at 2pm (AEST) on 12/4/2017.  Grants will be negotiated in July-August for projects starting before June 2018.

Estimated Grant Value (AUD):

From $5,000.00 to $60,000.00
