The objective of the 2018-19 Modern Slavery Grant Opportunity is to provide funding to not-for-profit non-government organisations to deliver community-based projects to prevent and deter modern slavery-related crimes in Australia.
Invited organisations will be assessed on their ability to, through new innovative community-based activities, achieve the following outcomes:
- tackle the root causes of modern slavery-related exploitation
- raise awareness of modern slavery-related crimes amongst the general community, and
- build the resilience of groups who may be vulnerable to modern slavery-related practices.
As per the Grant Program Guidelines, this is a targeted, competitive round and the following non-government organisations are invited to apply:

Anti-Slavery Australia

Australian Catholic Religious Against Trafficking in Humans
-
Australian Muslim Women's Centre for Human Rights
-
Australian Red Cross
-
Project Respect
-
the Salvation Army Freedom Partnership to End Modern Slavery, and
-
Stop the Traffik.
$500,000.00
Please submit your application using the template provided to the Department of Home Affairs by 11:59pm 29 June 2018 at peoplesmugglingandtrafficking@homeaffairs.gov.au
Applicants must address all of the eligibility and assessment criteria to be considered for a grant. Please complete each section of the application form and provide all supporting documentation as requested, including a Preliminary Project Plan using the template provided.
