Grant Activity:
Discovering novel immune targets for treating infectious diseases
Purpose:
The early establishment of immunoregulatory networks following infection may act to suppress subsequent immune responses to new infections. Therefore, we need to better understand how immune responses develop and are regulated during infectious diseases. In particular, we need to establish whether regulatory mechanisms can be manipulated to improve anti-parasitic immunity without exacerbating disease. This knowledge is vital if important human parasitic diseases are to be eliminated.
