Grant Activity:
Coding For Kids
Purpose:
Australian Islamic Collage (Thornlie) is a small multicultural school in WA, which always aims to deliver high quality education. We want to prepare our students for digital and technology based jobs of 21st century. Our kids live in a digital world. Therefore, we have to have digitally literate kids at a background level where they can create digitally, that means coding, programming, algorithm thinking, along those lines. We've found that the best way to do that is through developing a maker culture where we would be able to teach those skills. The school wishes to extend their innovative robotics and coding program to K–6 students by providing professional learning for our teachers as well.
