The Indigenous Science Experience @ Redfern
Purpose:
The Indigenous Science Experience @ Redfern highlights the value of traditional and contemporary Indigenous knowledge in STEM and the relevance of science to our lives. It showcases the role of Indigenous youth and Elders in knowledge custodianship and teaching. Coordinated by the National Indigenous Science Education Program (NISEP) and located at the Redfern Community Centre, this event will provide three days for local primary school students and a Family Fun Day, open to the general public. All four days will be free to attendees and showcase a wide range of hands–on Indigenous and Western STEM activities demonstrated by Indigenous secondary students, Indigenous representatives and STEM outreach providers from various organisations.
