Grant Program:
Grants to Australian Organisations Program
Grant Activity:
Grants for the operational funding of the National Judicial College of Australia
Purpose:

This grant provides operational funding for the NJCA for the period 2018-19 to 2020-21, amounting to $362,327.35 (GST exclusive) per annum, increased in 2019-20 and 2020-21 in accordance with consumer price index. The grant was in varied to provide an additional year of operational funding of $369,314.24 for the 2021-22 financial year.

The NJCA was established in 2003 as a result of a decision of the then Standing Committee of Attorneys-General. Its role is to provide high quality, professional judicial education programs for all judges and magistrates in Australia, focusing on skills relevant to judicial officers across all jurisdictions. This includes training on family law and family violence issues, delivered under contracts entered into between the Department and the NJCA.

A variation has been entered to the grant value due to a clerical error. The original value entered was $1,106,272.88, which is the GST exclusive value. The grant value has been amended to reflect the GST inclusive value which is $1,216,900. There are no other factors which led to this variation apart from the clerical error.
