Purpose:
The aim of Stabilcorp Pty Ltd’s project is to increase productivity, reduce material waste and optimise the ShoulderMaster manufacturing process, by reducing assembly times, through the use of a Computer Numerical Control Plasma cutting machine (CNC).
Up to 65% of ShoulderMaster components are manufactured using a manual gas cutting process. This traditional process of cutting steel (by hand) only permits one plate at a time to be cut, increasing the probability of variations to quality and shape.
The installation of a CNC Plasma machine will speed up the process of cutting components for the ShoulderMaster chassis, potentially saving up to 20% on wastage and up to 30% on manufacturing times.
With the ShoulderMaster manufactured in regional NSW, it keeps and increases manufacturing employment regional.
