A 5.23kW PV system for crisis housing
Purpose:
UnitingCare West will purchase and install a 5.23kW solar PV and inverter roof system, which will provide an estimated 9,089kW of clean renewable energy annually and save around four tonnes of CO2 entering the atmosphere annually. The property provides transitional affordable housing for up to five people seeking crisis accommodation. Reducing their co-payment of electricity bills will enable them to build financial security more quickly and facilitate their moving to independent living sooner. This in turn will allow us to support more individuals than we currently can. Residents successful transition out of homelessness or the risk of homelessness benefits not only them but also the broader community.
