Purpose:
The solar panel project, "Men's Shed Culburra Beach and Districts to install a 5KW solar PV system" will help to reduce the community's power bill. It will reduce the demand on the national electricity grid as the centre will be self- sufficient for our energy needs. Installing a 5 kw system will provide around 400 kWh of electricity every year. This will save around 1.5 tonnes of CO2 annually. It will enable us to undertake projects that are more power hungry and have to be deferred because of costs. Solar panels would therefore prove beneficial economically, environmentally and would be sustainable into the future.
