Purpose:
This project will further expand the Cooktown Airport expansion with the creation and realignment of Airport Drive including aerodrome signage, a new parking area, as well as the detailed design for future upgrades, and works required to reach current Code 3C specifications including runway displacement, tree and vegetation clearing and runway resealing.
The key activities to be undertaken by the Grantee in the airport expansion include:
? Construction of the Airport Drive roadway.
? Installation of aerodrome information signage at both ends of the new access road.
? Construction of approximately 31 space carpark.
? Detailed design for future airport upgrades.
? Resealing of the current runway including new linemarking.
? Runway displacement, tree and vegetation clearing to comply with code 3 operations.
