Purpose:
The Prepared to Work Gippsland (Manufacturing and Construction) is a program designed to improve the health and wellbeing of participants as well as prepare participants to be ready to work within the Construction and Manufacturing industries.
The program will prepare 50 unemployed people who reside within the Latrobe Valley for work within the Construction and Manufacturing Industries based in the greater Latrobe Valley region (including Latrobe City, Wellington and Baw Baw Shires). Participants will be supported with pre–employment training, on the job mentoring support and health and well–being sessions. Well–being sessions will include gym membership for participants to improve their physical and work fitness, motivation and health.
Group training will be conducted in Traralgon, Morwell, and Moe to make it more accessible for Latrobe Valley residents and to have better coverage across the region. The program aims to give participants the benefits of individualised health plans, continued utilisation of gym and health classes, critical pre–employment testing such as mandatory drug and alcohol testing and pre–employment training and workshops.
