Antarctic Science Collaboration Initiative
Grant Activity:
Australian Antarctic Program Partnership (AAPP)
Purpose:
The Antarctic Science Collaboration Initiative supports the Australian Antarctic Program Partnership (AAPP), which brings together leading Australian science agencies to better understand the role of the Antarctic region in the global climate system and the implications on marine ecosystems. Membership includes the Australian Antarctic Division, University of Tasmania, CSIRO, Bureau of Meteorology, Geoscience Australia, Government of Tasmania and Australia's Integrated Marine Observing System. The research will underpin the delivery of improved projections of Australian and global climate, sea level rise, and marine living resources, providing decision-makers with the knowledge needed to anticipate and manage the impacts of climate change. It will also complement the Government's commitment to growing the Tasmanian economy through the Hobart City Deal, by securing Antarctic science jobs in Hobart. Resources: EL1 x 0.5 hr.
