S.U.R.E. (Skilling Up for Regional Employment
Purpose:
Skilling Up for Regional Employment (SURE) will provide training and development pathways for 12 participants, in an intensive intervention program that prepares them to take up entry level roles in a region experiencing skills and labour shortages in advanced manufacturing mainstream minerals processing and associated heavy industry.
SURE will assist a group of culturally and linguistically diverse Launceston job seekers willing to pursue jobs in Georgetown which is approximately a 50km commute from Launceston. The project will be delivered collaboratively with Keen Partners (Bell Bay group employer) and CVGT (jobactive provider) to provide targeted, productive and positive pre–employment experiences for participants primarily from refugee backgrounds.
This integrated and intensive project aims to open meaningful pathways to ongoing employment for at least 50% of the participants. This will in turn ensure retention of individuals and their families in regional Australia.
