TRANSLATION OF BEST PRACTICE OSTEOPOROSIS REFRACTURE PREVENTION: STOPPING FRAGILITY FRACTURES TO KEEP AUSTRALIANS OUT OF HOSPITAL
Purpose:
Older people who break bones after only minor injuries may be at risk of further fractures. If those with more fragile bones are identified, they can be treated to improve their bone health, and prevent new fractures and hospital stays. Evidence shows what treatments to use but many services struggle to deliver this effectively and sustainably. This study tests an approach to develop, trial and cost locally-tailored solutions as a way to improve patient outcomes and value of care for Australians
