A new vaccine to protect against Chikungunya virus (and similar other viruses) causing chronic musculoskeletal diseases
Purpose:
Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) has emerged as a serious cause of human disease, with an expanding geographic distribution, infecting millions of people around the globe. Due to the chronic nature of disease, CHIKV has a major economic impact on affected nations. We have developed a novel vaccine for protection against CHIKV infection. The development of this vaccine will also significantly help in reducing the risk of the global spread of this disease, including in Australia.
