Purpose:
The project site is a temperate saltmarsh located in the CRRP, with estuarine saltmarsh habitats recognised nationally as a Threatened Ecological Community since 2013 ranked as vulnerable. The vegetation complex is also listed as a priority ecological community in Western Australia. Our project will remove the competition of weeds to native saltmarsh vegetation by enhancing habitat qualities. The revegetation of provenance halophytes will assist in suppressing the weed species whilst maintaining ecological and genetic diversity of the area. Finally, investigation data will provide a management strategy to apply within Swan–Canning saltmarshes.
