Mixed radiotherapy fractionation: modulating tumour microenvironment to stimulate and enhance immunotherapy
Purpose:
Immunotherapy has offered great promise for cancer treatment, though its efficacy is limited to a small part of the population. Radiotherapy is known to increase the likelihood of immune response, yet the mechanisms are not well understood. This study will focus on combinations of radiotherapy and immunotherapy schedules, examine the resulting impact on tumour tissue and immune cells, and devise methods for optimising treatments for patients with thoracic cancers.
