Purpose:
We are bad at preventing strokes and by 2050 the number of strokes per year will double to 130,000. We have developed a research program to drive these numbers down by improving our understanding of who will have a stroke, developing new ways to reduce the risk of stroke and national surveillance of stroke. We will achieve our aim of reducing the incidence of stroke through collaboration across epidemiology, health services, and clinical care.
