Purpose:
Calciphylaxis is a rare disease with devastating consequences for sufferers and those around them. The outlook is bleak for people diagnosed with the painful condition, who face a typical life expectancy of around 3 months. Despite its poor outlook, there are no proven treatments. The Better Evidence and Translation in Calciphylaxis (BEAT-Calci) study will investigate whether any currently available treatments result in better outcomes for people who suffer this terrible condition.
