Purpose:

Bruegel, a Brussels-based economic policy EU think-tank, will use the Grant to support the organisation of events mutually agreed with the Australian Mission throughout 2020. The events may be streamed online during COVID-19 lockdown period or be held at Bruegel’s premises. Such events will be feature Australian experts and representatives proposed by the Australian Mission. The topics, dates, time and format of the events will be agreed jontly by Bruegel and the Australian Mission.

The grant objective is to advance the Mission ’s public diplomacy strategy through:

establishing networks, collaboration and exchange
promoting Australia's reputation in Europe as a strong supporter of the rules based order, free trade and open markets
strengthening institutional networks, cultural exchange, collaboration and people-to-people links, and
promoting Australia as a key destination for tourism, study, research, innovation and investment.
